Conditional sentences
In this test, we study the "si" clauses used for conditions that are contrary to the facts => the result clause is pretty much impossible.
The imperfect, or past subjunctive is used to create the "si" clause while the conditional tense is used in the resulting clause. The imperfect subjunctive is used to show that the si clause is not reality. The conditional tense is similar to using the English word “would”.
These sentences describe hypothetical situations.
If certain conditions were true, what would happen?
These sentences are constructed according to the following pattern: Si Clause = Si + imperfect subjunctive // Result Clause = Conditional (similar to using the English word "would").
Example: Si trabajaras más, aprobarías el examen = if you worked harder, you would pass the exam
Exercise: Conjugate the 5 sentences according to the pattern above mentioned!
